Regardless of the headlines promoting the rise in AI roles and decrease in IT, we have seen a significant bump in demand for executive IT talent. Why? As Kelly Doyle, managing director at Heller, explains to CIO.com, organizations need IT leadership to lead AI initiatives to both seize on new opportunities and avoid risky challenges. “While not everyone fully understands AI, it is clear that companies need strong technology leaders to navigate this landscape,” she says.
Along with AI leadership, as this month's CIO appointments show, organizations value industry experience, with many CIOs promoted from within or hired from industry relevant businesses.
